Outdoor leadership for youth
TAASC is an outdoor based non-profit in Morganton, North Carolina. Having been in operation for 25 plus years, TAASC has impacted hundreds of kids in the community.
We believe every young person has the potential to become a compassionate and transformational leader in their community. we aim to develop qualities connected to a strong sense of self and an adventurous spirit through adventure education, service learning, and quality instruction.
TAASC is committed to providing a safe and welcoming community for all students to learn technical and leadership skills. We focus on programming related to Rock climbing, bouldering, backpacking, caving, kayaking, canoeing, slacklining, juggling, teambuilding, service work, ecology, environment and more. Through these programs and activities, we hope to provide students with remarkable life experiences.
We have four groups who meet weekly at the TAASC Leadership Center in Morganton; Tadpoles, Frogs, Salamanders, and Olders. Our groups are separated by age and, in younger groups, gender to provide the best possible learning environment. During meetings, we discuss upcoming trips, news, and cover a technical lesson. We have 2 to 4 trips each month throughout the school year and often have big trips during winter and summer breaks. Check out our current Fall 2023 Schedule.
