Expeditions

The annual expedition is more than the culmination of a year at TAASC, it is where everything the kids have learned finally comes together. Throughout the year, they build the technical skills, judgment, teamwork, resilience, and leadership needed to take on something genuinely challenging. Then they put those skills to work in an expedition that is bigger than anything they could accomplish alone: climbing a peak in the Sierra Nevada or paddling hundreds of miles through the Wilderness.These journeys give young people a rare opportunity to experience the full arc of preparation, commitment, challenge, and accomplishment. They discover that they are capable of far more than they imagined, and return home not simply having completed an adventure, but with a deeper confidence in themselves and in what they can accomplish together.
